EARL F. LEVIN, CLD, IALD
Principal / Senior Lighting Designer
Lighting design is an artistic and scientific endeavor, mixing light with shadow to capture the essence of life. Lighting is not unto itself. It is much more than that. It is about proportion and space and a passion for this wonderous substance to bring pleasure; for all living things, for art, for architecture, for our environment.
Understanding problem-solving methodology is essential to implementing the right lighting design solution(s). Problem-solving is the foundation for every design that I do. It is a learned scientific method which allows me to test and implement engineered and artistic ideas.
40+ years’ experience in lighting and controls design and applications engineering. Includes daylighting concepts and modeling, fenestration shade design and implementation, integration of mechanical and whole home/building automation systems, emergency egress design and implementation with related generator and or inverter downsizing, efficient implementation of conduit systems, energy code compliance, and commissioning.
